Background

This retro is for the S70: Thursday, Sep 7th - Wednesday, Sep 20th

Please add comments before the meeting! We’ll take a few minutes to add additional comments and discuss, then put together action items to operationalize suggestions.

Last sprints (S69) retro is here: https://lite-farm.atlassian.net/l/cp/hx3qk3vR

Retrospective

Discussion topics:

  • Use Jitsi instead of Zoom for internal calls? Reasoning is that it’s supporting open source and Zoom may be harvesting our voice and likenesses

    • There exists other tools we could potentially use

    • @Joyce Sato-Reinhold: so long as the screen sharing is good, okay to try out others

    • @Loic Sans : for design review, we can use Figma’s video call option

  • Proposal: ~1 Day per sprint no internal meetings

    • For Duncan having meetings mid-day is a challenge

    • Suggestion: Use Slack statuses more rigorously - turn off notifications and be unavailable for X hours

    • Joyce felt that meetings are less distracting than async notifications - if we do a quiet day, it should be quiet across the board

    • Sayaka feels there are some unnecessary meetings - if one person is going to tackle a bug, the whole team doesn’t need to be there.

Shout outs

  •

  • Using Stand-up to have longer discussions about functionality or design

  • @Joyce Sato-Reinhold

because of her fearlessness in the face of trouble , every time when I find any bug, she doesn’t need to much time to understand how to fix this problem. And this is very inspiring.

  • @Loic Sans for hitting the ground running

  • the whole team for good decision-making during a period of uncertainty

  • @Sayaka Ono for building so many beautiful UI components (and rolling with it when some of them got axed!) And also for SUCH A GOOD PERSISTED PATHS PRESENTATION
