Design Agenda

Agenda for Jan 31, 2022

  • Plan for how to calculate crop financial balance

    • The controversy being whether the crop-by-crop appropriately incorporates non monetary uses of crops? → Yes, think that is a principal issue.

    • It would be easy to do a costs vs. incomes comparison, but I think with tasks and durations, I see it becoming pretty complicated for the calculation to represent the reality.

    • Also, for costs, we only have an expense type, but don't tie it into each crop.

  • Review product/inventory management screens

  • Discuss soil sample wireframes

  • Go over website mockup

  • Thoughts on wild crops:

    • Wild crop should be determined on variety creation (not management plan) - Otherwise what would you put in for supplier?

  • Need to change icon from location pin to wild crop icon

  • Adjust lat/long display on harvest task

Proposed changes:

  • “Wild crop” status would be identified when creating the crop, with a “Is this a wild crop” check box on the add_crop_variety page

  • Include an “Are you managing this wild crop with organic practices?” question on the second page of the add_crop_variety page

  • Remove: supplier, Is the seed or crop certified organic?, Have the seeds for this crop been treated?, Did you perform a commercial availability search?, Is the crop genetically engineered?, Have the seeds for this crop been treated?

Future points (If we life there two ideas let’s add it to the productboard):

  • 2 versions of LiteFarm: Basic and comprehensive.

  • Application vs. renewal process for certifiers.

  • How best to include elaborated (Strawberry jam) or distinct products juçara palm (fruits and palm hearts) in LiteFarm (value-added)

  • To be able to add more than one location of the same crop on the map. Reflection: The same crops can be planted in different areas

  • Leave as “optional” the indication of the next harvest

  • Reviewing suggestions from  Comitê Gestor ensuring all suggestions where tickets are necessary, have tickets
