The above relationships define two pieces of the SGTIN. The technical product is likely the product code, whereas the localized product is likely the individual asset. The enterprise (organization) is not shown on the inset.

 

The catalog item is the “way” a retailer describes a technical product. For example, what might be “russet potatoes” at the farm could then be shown in a retailers catalog as “Farmer Pete’s Russet Potatoes”.

Part origin is the part of the source (e.g. plant it comes from). For example, with hemp it could be stem for fiber, flower for CBD oil, etc. Also could be the parts of animals butchered from livestock.

 

 

 

Their product hierarchy doesn’t really cover the pre-harvest side of things. It does appear to thoughtfully address most things post-harvest, (which I think about as) raw or transformation into finished products. Raw being things like “apples” and transformed being things like “T-bone steak”.
